What do you do at midnight when you are staying at an unattended apartment unit with no local manager? The apartment idea is great, and this building is great, but Domicile completely failed to make it work. Chroma SLU is a high end apartment building with an incredible view of the city, modern living and great amenities. Looking for a blanket to decide to sleep in unmade bed or couch, I found one used sheet balled up in the closet. I successfully unlocked doors to get to my furnished apartment which would have been great except that the bed was not made (see photo), housekeeping had dumped a bag of dirty towels on the living room floor, and an extra rug was rolled up on top of another rug, with couch moved to the side of the room.

The agent was very apologetic and stayed with me on the phone for the approx 20 minutes required to confirm that I had a pre-paid reservation and to, finally, figure out how to reset the kiosk to issue a key. After multiple attempts, I called the number published by Guesty for Domicile (the service). I arrived at 11:30 pm and followed the instructions to get my key out of the electronic kiosk.
